Samsung Electronics Co., the world's largest memory chipmaker and major mobile device manufacturer, opened online newsrooms in Sweden and Norway, its key markets in Europe, and started services in local languages.

Samsung announced on Tuesday the launch of Samsung Newsroom Sweden and Samsung Newsroom Norway.

The two newsrooms, similar to Samsung Global Newsroom, will provide a wide range of news content, covering the company’s latest news, campaigns, corporate social responsibility (CSR) activities, products and services, and business insights.

Since it kicked off online communication with consumers by opening corporate blogs in 2010, the company has bolstered its online communication activities by launching global newsrooms and Korean newsrooms in 2015.

With these launches, Samsung's newsrooms in Europe increased to 20, and newsrooms around the world to 44 sites.

In particular, it is rapidly expanding global coverage by establishing 10 newsrooms this year alone, including Uzbekistan newsrooms, which are due to open this month.

Recently, the cumulative number of visitors to Samsung Electronics' all newsrooms has exceeded 200 million.

"As online communication has become more important than ever around the world recently, newsrooms are playing a role as a key communication channel," said an official of Samsung. "We plan to launch newsrooms in more countries to strengthen local customized online communication."
