Boryung holds Care-in-Space Challenge in US for space healthcare startups

NASA's last space shuttle Endeavor on display at the 1st Care-in-Space event South Korea's pharmaceutical company Boryeong said on Friday that it held the first "Care-in-Space Challenge" event, a new space healthcare startup fostering program, in Los Angeles on Tuesday.
The CIS Challenge is a program that discovers and nurtures startups that can address health problems that may occur in outer space. Private space station developer Axiom Space and aerospace startup accelerator Starburst participated in the event together.
About 200 people, including industry officials, investors, and participating teams, were in attendance at the event.
At the event, six winners of the challenge, Advanced TeleSensors, Deep Space Biology, Myelin-H, Nano PharmaSolutions, ViBo Health, and Xtory, presented their business plans and visions.
Kim Jeong-gyun, the chairperson of Boryeong's Board of Directors, said, "Recently, with the participation of private companies, the frequency and duration of human visits to space are increasing rapidly," adding, "We will lead the mission of freeing human activities in space in partnership with many partner companies through the challenge."
