IGIS Asset Management Co., South Korea’s largest real estate investment firm managing $46.5 billion in assets as of end-2021, said on Tuesday it has named Jang Ji-young as its new head of securities.
Jang said he will apply IGIS’ expertise in alternative investments to traditional assets as well as launch investment products with stable cash flow and risk diversification
Jang has 25 years of experience in global debt investment. He managed fixed income at Korea Post, the state-run postal services agency, between 2004 and 2007. He also led global fixed income at the National Pension Service (NPS) for nine years from 2007.
Before joining IGIS this month, Jang spent six years at Hanwha Asset Management Co. where he served as managing director delivering global fixed income investment services to institutional investors.
IGIS set up the securities investment unit in April of this year, in a bid to expand its presence from alternative investment to equity and debt.
